My name is John J. Campbell
Head shot of John J. Campbell, artist and owner of Head2Head Studios.
Welcome!  I hope you see something on my website that excites you.

My goal in all of my art is to find the life in what we see every day and capture it in a way that is visually and emotionally compelling.  When I start a drawing or a painting, it is all about what I see and feel; but in the end it is all about what the viewer sees and feels.  I love to see someone looking at my work and reacting to what he or she finds there.  I work primarily in pencil and in acrylic on canvas.  As for myself, I am and always will be a work in progress.

Although I studied art in and after high school, I have spent the last 30 years as a lawyer.  Then, one fateful day in December of 2015, the artist in me was reawakened and now refuses to go back into his cage.  With every drawing and every painting, I learn something new.  I love experimenting with different styles, techniques and subjects.  Maybe someday I will reach the destination of a particular style all my own but for now I am quite content with the journey.

Don't get me wrong.  I do have a life outside the studio walls.  On my rare days off, you are quite likely to find me fly fishing on the South Platte River here in Colorado.  I am married to my best friend and we have our own four-legged family.  What I am learning, though, is that the more I pursue my art, the more I realize that Head2Head Studios has no walls.
